Much attention is given to eating in season and local farm foods, and short season areas like NY will benefit greatly by freezing and locking in a nutritious harvest. The frozen food industry includes fruits, veggies, medleys, prepared and combination meals, pizza, baked goods, meats and fish.

"Yes, we thoroughly enjoyed the heirloom tomato puree. With it I made a basic tomato sauce using the puree as a base, With Fresh garlic and olive oil, a little basil, salt and pepper. Served over angel hair pasta. The best ingredients, although simple, allow for the very best flavor! My daughter thought it was very good. I also set some aside with ground beef and onions, cooked elbow noodles, and made goulash. My husband agreed it was "excellent"!

"I tried the tomato puree in a lentil stew and loved the fresher taste. The difference in the sodium content was quite noticeable, and it was a nice to change to be able to add some fresh sea salt. I do think I would heat it in the microwave or on the stove before adding it to the stew next time so that it doesn't drop the temp. of the stew so much and might caramelize a might more/quicker. Thank you immensely for the sample!
